    Job Description

    Perspecta is seeking an experienced Cyber Security Engineer.  The candidate will be responsible for documenting and improving the security posture of our applications and their Operating Environments.  Security must be compliant with the DoD’s Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG).  All work is performed using the Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.  Securing of the systems is conducted using scripts which are distributed to the numerous locations where our products reside.  A strong background in scripting languages, primarily PowerShell, is required.



    • Manage the development of scripts which apply security to operational systems
    • Work as part of an Agile Team to improve the security posture of Perspecta applications and systems
    • Evaluate Perspecta applications for compliance with STIGs and document and mitigate vulnerabilities
    • Work with NAVAIR customer to support the submission of accreditation packages to security accreditor


    Job Qualifications

    • Requires 2 to 5 years with BS/BA or 0 to 2 years with MS/MA/MBA or 8 to 10 years with no degree.
    • Experience working with Microsoft and LINUX products
    • Strong experience in scripting languages
    • Experience in securing of VMs and middleware products
    • Knowledge of current issues and solutions for defense and Commercial Industry security techniques
    • Experience developing a security plan
    • Experience evaluating system security posture to include PEN testing preferred
    • Familiarity working in an Agile development environment adhering to DEV/OPS principals
    • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or 2 years work experience
    • Active certification for DoD 8570.1-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, Certified Ethical Hacker, is desirable
    • An active security clearance is desirable
