The work will involve research into machine learning techniques, applying these techniques to different types of data, including some or all of the following: cyber data, imagery, video, data from various types of sensors, textual data, financial data, and healthcare data, to name a few. The work will be performed in small teams and will involve all aspects of data analytics, including working with customers to understand their requirements, designing and prototyping the solution, analyzing the data, evaluating and writing up results, and presenting results on a regular basis to customers. As part of the research, the work will also involve writing research papers and presenting them at conferences.
The candidate will be responsible for participating in research projects, typically in a leadership role, and working with a team of people with diverse capabilities to achieve the objectives of the project. Work will involve thought leadership as well as executing projects with high quality results. The candidate will also participate in writing research proposals in various areas of data analytics. Frequent interactions with customers to include presentations and technical interchanges to elicit requirements and present results are expected.
Requires 10 to 12 years with BS/BA or 8 to 10 years with MS/MA or 5 to 7 years with PhD.
10+ years experience working in the area of machine learning/data analytics.
The candidate should have excellent programming skills and should be able to implement machine learning solutions for a variety of different types of structure and unstructured data. The candidate should have good communications and writing skills, and a good publications record.
Experience in writing research proposals is a plus.
Preferred: Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field.
